The Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter of ACBS would like to invite you to be a part of the 2nd annual
“South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic” being held on July 17th – 19th. With last years South Tahoe Wooden Boat
Classic we made friends and connections in the South Tahoe community, we gained some new members to our
chapter, and we were able to give back to four different community not for profit organizations and they in turn
helped us bring in over 1300 people to the show. We are again planning on putting on a quality Boat Show and
giving back to the community, but we are also taking into consideration the forthcoming challenges of 2009.
We have expanded the show to two days starting on Friday, going from 12-4 and then on Saturday from 9-4. This
will be a judged show and we will have many awards for the boats and their owners.
Friday evening we will again have the very popular “On the Docks” Party, at the Tahoe Keys Marina, Rubicon
Dock. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks, and wine featuring Picchetti Winery from 5:30 pm-7:30 pm.
Saturday we will start your evening off with a Wine, Cocktails and Cheese Party at the Picchetti Winery which is
about 4 miles from the Tahoe Keys Marina. This will be a 5:30 to 7:00 Tahoe Casual mixer. For you wine
lovers, Picchetti will be giving special wine purchase discounts to party participants. We will provide you a list of
local restaurants and specialty meat and food stores so you can make dinner arrangements for after the party.
Sunday we have “The Annual ACBS Picnic” from 10:30 – 1:30 to be held at the Valhalla estate on the South
Shore. There will be a Boat Parade starting at the Keys at 9:30 that will go around Emerald Bay then onto
Valhalla where we will be giving out the Awards for the Boat Show. Boat tie lines and shuttle service from both
the parking lot and the water will be available. Yes, Valhalla also has car access. Lunch will start being served at
11:30 and awards will be given out from noon to 1:00. Valhalla has a playhouse with a play starting at 7:30 on
Saturday night and a art exhibit from 10-3 on Sunday. Check the website for more information on the play and

For those of you needing a place to stay, the Tahoe Keys Resort has offered our participants a 20% discount for
lodging. They will waive the 7 night minimum requirement for Tahoe Keys Resort condominiums and allow a
three (3) night minimum. For those of you wanting to make a week of it Vacation Homes will be at the prevailing
minimum – currently 7 nights, but will also be at the 20% discount. When contacting the reservations
department, ask for the Wooden Boat Show discount. The main reservation number is (800) 698-2463. Lodging

Boat Entry Information Sheet
ACBS NC/LT is now accepting applications for antique and classic boats that are either restored or
preserved for the South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic at the Tahoe Keys Marina. The judging for this show
will be based on the ACBS International standard. Entries may be submitted on a non-judged basis.
ALL BOAT ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY APRIL 15, 2009
IN ORDER TO PLAN AND PRODUCE A QUALITY BOAT SHOW.
We only have space for 60 and we had to turn away boats last year. Entries must include a color
photograph, digital preferred, and a brief description of the history and/or restoration information about
your boat. Also include proof of current in-force liability insurance with your application. Additional
entry forms are available on the website acbs-tahoe.org.
ACBS Boat Classifications:
Historic:
a boat built up to and including 1918
Antique:
a boat built 1919 and 1942, inclusive
Classic:
a boat built between 1943 and 1968, inclusive
Production Contemporary:
a production wooden boat built 1969 to present
Custom Contemporary:
a modified or one-of-a-kind wooden boat built 1969 to present
Classic Fiberglass:
a fiberglass boat manufactured through 1973
Preserved
a Boat containing at least 60% of its original deck and topsides
material. Bottom replacement is expected in order for the boat to
remain serviceable.

All boats must be at the Tahoe Keys Marina on Friday, July 17, 2008 between 8 am and 11:00 am. Boats may
arrive by water or be launched at no fee at Tahoe Keys Marina boat ramp.
Entry benefits include launching, trailer storage and berth for 2 ˝ days, 2 Two-Day passes to the boat show,
2 passes to the Saturday VIP Lounge at the South Lake Tahoe Yacht Club (snacks and beverages will be
available throughout the day), one exhibitor gift bag including a commemorative T-Shirt, color souvenir event
program, and a DVD of the weekend’s activities including pictures of all boats and their owners. And of
course, there will be many trophies and awards handed out at the ACBS Annual Picnic and Awards.
